Scott Widham leads an experienced Executive Team at Alpheus Communications. Most recently he served as CEO of Cobridge Communications, an owner and operator of cable television systems in the Central portion of the United States. Prior to Cobridge, Widham was CEO of Broadwing Communications, a billion dollar fiber and data center company offering voice, data and video services to enterprise and wholesale customers. Broadwing was acquired by Level 3 in 2008 for $1.6B. Prior to joining Broadwing, Widham was the founder and CEO of Capital Cable, a multi-system operator that owned cable systems across the U.S. and in Latin America. Capital Cable was acquired by Charter Communications. Widham also served as EVP of Corecomm and was a Director at MTV Networks. Widham earned a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
Chief Operating Officer
Francisco Maella leads operations for the Company including Network Planning, Network Engineering, Implementation, Sales Engineering Provisioning, OSS and Product Development. He is also responsible for the technology selection, network design and new product deployment plans for the Alpheus production network. Maella has been with Alpheus and its predecessor company since 2001. He has managed the architecture and design organization for Valiant Networks, a start-up in Silicon Valley, responsible for working with carrier customers in the product development, design and implementation of Voice, Data and Optical/Transport networks and products. Maella served as a Network Architect and Chief Technologist for Data Architecture and Design at Williams Communications. He has also held a variety of engineering positions with MCI WorldCom working with Voice, Data and Transport technologies. Mr. Maella holds a degree from the University of Louisiana in Electrical Engineering.
Senior Vice President of Carrier Sales
Chip Robertson leads the company’s Carrier and Wholesale Sales division. Robertson was senior vice president of carrier sales for both McLeod USA and CapRock Communications, where he was responsible for selling a vast array of carrier products including dark fiber, international and domestic terminations, and private line services. Robertson has been with Alpheus and its predecessor company since 2001. He also worked for WorldCom and Metropolitan Fiber Systems as City Vice President of the Denver Colorado network. He has also worked for Sprint in several different roles. Mr. Robertson graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Chief Financial Officer
Rich Martin is responsible for all financial functions including accounting, tax and internal control functions of the Company. Prior to joining Alpheus, Martin held executive financial management and leadership positions including CFO/COO of Biophysical Corporation, Vice President of Finance of Akela Pharma and the Chief Accounting Officer/Corporate Controller of Broadwing Communications where the company was acquired by Level 3 in 2008 for $1.6B. Martin started his career with KPMG in audit and accounting and is a certified public accountant. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from George Washington University and is on the Board of Governors of LifeWorks Foundation, a charitable organization that helps homeless youth achieve self sufficiency and avoid long-term dependency on social services.
Vice President of Marketing
Jennifer Mao is responsible for all aspects of Alpheus Communications marketing efforts including marketing communications, lead generation, channel marketing, and public/analyst relations. Mao is a marketing veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and software industries. Prior to joining Alpheus, Mao was the vice president of Airband Communications. Her past experiences include the chief marketing officer for Sage Telecom and marketing leadership positions with GlobeRanger Corporation, Allied Riser Communications, and Verizon/GTE. Mao has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from U.C. Berkeley and M.B.A. from UCLA.
Senior Vice President of Enterprise & Channel Sales
An accomplished, growth-oriented executive, Matt Milliron is responsible for enterprise and channel sales at Alpheus Communications. Prior to joining Alpheus, Milliron was the vice president of sales for the eastern and central regions at Airband Communications where he recruited and grew the sales team to become the top producing region. Additionally, Milliron provided sales leadership in strategic account management, channel strategy, customer relations and training. Milliron’s previous experience included vice president of sales & general manager at Cbeyond where he was responsible for a successful regional team that included sales, sales engineering, channel management and sales operations. Milliron received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration at Texas Christian University.
