Enterprise Sales Manager

General Summary

Works under the general supervision of Sales Management, selling Alpheus products and services which include, but are not limited to, Metro Ethernet, E-LAN, MPLS IP VPN, DIA, Long Haul Services, Managed Waves and Data Center Colocation. This business segment is primarily focused on the company’s growth of new and existing enterprise customer accounts. Enterprise Sales Managers (ESM) focus on prospecting for and closing deals with new accounts. After the close of the initial sale, the ESM continues to manage the account for future revenue streams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurate forecasting
  • Account responsibility and overall responsibility to prospect for new customers through aggressive prospecting efforts to new businesses
  • Develop relationships with and maintain communications with new businesses through various mediums
  • Identify and qualify sales leads and maintain a strong prospect pipeline to ensure above average quota and revenue goal attainment
  • Provide professional and technical advice on business applications to ensure account satisfaction by fulfilling customer needs
  • Respond to customer inquiries that result from outbound prospecting calls to retain and grow existing revenues while securing new accounts
  • Respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs)

Product Responsibility

  • Represent Alpheus’ entire product portfolio
  • Maintain a solid understanding of all of the major product groups and applications associated with these product groups
  • Coordinate with Engineering and sales support to complete product configuration and ensure successful installations

Sales Process Responsibility

  • Use computer applications to create proposals and/or presentations
  • Input current account information as well as prospective account status into Salesforce.com
  • Give on site presentations to existing and prospective clients while utilizing sales techniques in order to close sales
  • Focus on new streams of revenue through aggressive networking and prospecting
  • Coordinate area-wide technology events for customers and prospects

Job Specifications

  • Strong written, communication and presentation skills are required to compose and present proposals, send routine letters, and present proposals and maintain influential relationships at all levels within the customer’s organization
  • Thorough knowledge of telecommunication products and services is required as well as innovative problem solving skills to influence the sale and diffuse potential customer problems

Minimum Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent and 4+ years professional experience working in the telecommunications industry
  • Experience working in a high growth, fast paced organization concentrated on the SMB and enterprise account segments with all 4+ years directly related to the job (outside, direct sales experience)

Special Administrative Knowledge

Position requires ability to use MS-excel, word & power point. Individual must be disciplined, organized and willing to work within an activity based model. They must also be articulate when communicating both internally and externally on behalf of the company.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Must be able to self prioritize assignments and tasks
  • Must be able to work alone with very little supervision
  • Keep management up to date on all on-going projects, with regard to project status, completion  time and cost projections, and any problems that may arise
  • Maintain a clean, functional, and safe work area at all times
  • After hours, weekend and holiday availability may be required
